![]() The current FTP implementation in Google Chrome has no support for encrypted connections (FTPS), nor proxies. You will then be able to paste SFTP file URL to a web browser and the browser will open the SFTP client to download the file. Some SFTP clients can register to handle sftp:// URLs. The “third party” need to use a proper SFTP client. No major web browser support SFTP (at least not without any addin).
